Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct

This is the Transcription Society’s list of four principal requirements for every transcriber to abide by. All transcribers will be competent, impartial, maintain confidentiality at all times and work with integrity.

Confidentiality

Transcribers will at all times keep communication and information private and confidential.

Competence

Transcribers will develop the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to undertake assignments for clients, ensuring a high quality service is provided at all times.

Impartiality

Transcribers will remain neutral and impartial at all times when transcribing recordings. Source material will be presented completely and without bias.

Integrity

Transcribers will undertake ethical business practices. They shall be honest, respectful and with ethical principles in mind at all times. They shall deal with their own suppliers and employees responsibly and ethically.
